Winter sports are multifaceted! From skating and ice climbing to winter paragliding from the Zugspitze summit, winter in Garmisch-Partenkirchen offers leisure opportunities for everyone.
An unforgettable experience for young and old, sledging and tobogganing is widely present in the Loisach Valley - enjoy it with a wooden sleigh, a scoopjet, or even with a historical horn sled.
Try the various runs with natural or atrificial snow from the valley floor up to the Zugspitze summit. Our tip: a night ride is something to remember!
The longest run is from the St. Martinshütte Chalet to Garmisch, with its amazing 1600 meters in length and 320 meters in altitude. Mind that sledging and tobogganing requires the right equipment. Put on your complete ski outfit and shoes that provide a good grip - it is quite common to get bathed in the snow on the rapid downhill run. Also, for a moonlight ride a head torch is highly recommended.
The smaller ones can try out the run in the Zugspitzstrasse in Grainau and the small slope in Garmisch below the Kramerplateauweg.

You can take part in an Eisstockschießen trial session organized by the Tourist Office in Grainau - feel free to contact the office directly about this. Alternatively, you can book your game, including the equipment, at the Sportclub Eibsee in Grainau or at the Eisstock-Club in Garmisch.
